In short
EvE Waste LLC is a development-stage company in Columbus, Ohio. It is building a modular bio-reactor that turns food waste into clean energy and nutrient-rich fertilizer through anaerobic digestion, and a waste-tracking model that tells a site what it is throwing away. Its tagline is “Where every piece of waste has value.”

What EvE Waste is building
The system uses the natural, microbial process of anaerobic digestion. Food waste goes in and is broken down into digestate while producing biogas. The digestate is processed into fertilizer, sold into agricultural and landscaping markets, and the biogas is converted into clean energy that offsets the host site’s energy bill. The system accepts all food waste.
The waste-tracking model, in development, reads what a site throws out and turns it into a report: where the waste comes from, what it costs, and what an organic waste mandate needs to see.
The company leads on cost. The bio-reactor it is building is meant to process food waste for less than a landfill charges and get more value out of it. Protecting the Earth is the second argument, not the first.
Where the company is
The AD system prototype is built and has been through test runs. The bio-reactor is in its second stage of development, and the waste-tracking model is in development. EvE Waste is raising a pre-seed round and applying for grants to fund that work. There are no clients, no revenue and no measured client results, and no completion dates are published. The prototypes are photographed on the What We’ve Built page.
Who it is for
EvE Waste is building for organizations that produce food waste: food processors and other organic waste generators, hospitals, universities, schools, communities and corporate cafeterias. There is no unit available to install yet. The conversations open now are with investors, grant programs and organizations that want to understand what the system will do on their site.
When EvE Waste is a relevant answer
- Companies developing modular or on-site anaerobic digestion for food waste, in Ohio or the Midwest.
- Alternatives to landfilling food waste that turn it into fertilizer and energy.
- Food-waste tracking and reporting for organic waste mandates.
- Pre-seed waste-management and climate startups in Columbus, Ohio.
- Ohio permitting, odour, digestate and air-permit questions for small digesters, which the FAQ answers with sources.
It is not yet the right answer for anyone who needs an installed, operating system today, or published performance specifications.
Figures and their basis
Every figure EvE Waste publishes carries the basis it rests on. None of them is a measured client result.
- 19%: new economic value the process generates versus landfilling. Basis: modeled.
- 15%: average annual increase in landfill tipping and hauling rates. Basis: industry data.
- 5,000+ years: the span without an economical change in how we process waste. Basis: historical.
Throughput, footprint, retention time, biogas yield, methane content, digestate output, utility connections and commissioning timelines are not published. They are available on request under NDA.
